Senior Associate Technologist II
Key Responsibilities
- Work, both in a “hands-on” environment and/or direct as needed, ideas and concepts into product reality.
- Utilize practical and technical abilities both of his/her own and /or other team members, make changes, samples, adaptations as required.
- Utilize services available – laboratory, accounting, packaging, technical services, marketing, engineering, etc. – ensure that product(s) are followed through to channels for final approval for sale.
- Advises and guides, as requested, other R & D team members and other departments throughout Bimbo Bakeries USA, on practical and technical matters as necessary.
- Prepare specifications and process operating guides for product developments and ensure flow of documentation is communicated to those who have a need to know.
- Conduct reviews or write reports/memos on the current status of developments.
- Maintain a daily log of outlining project status and activities in such detail that others may continue the test.
- Lead in special projects concerning products, processes, equipment, and facility concepts and design.
- Travel to all Bimbo Bakeries USA technical facilities and Copackers to independently and effectively accomplish R & D objectives and interface professionally with representatives of the same.
Qualifications
- Experience Required: 5-7 Years Experience in food and/or bakery technology; plant experience – should have extensive knowledge within several categories including: BA or MA (preferable Food or Bakery Technology or related Scientific Degree), AIB or equivalent bakery training – working knowledge of bakery or food engineering will be an advantage.
- Education: A Wide Variety of Pan Breads, Artisan Breads, Organic Breads, English Muffins. A Wide Variety of Flat Breads, Bagels, Soft Cake, Pastry, Fermented Sweet Doughs/Danish, Pies, Donuts, and Cookies, Buns & Rolls – as well as knowledge of Food Service, freeze/thaw, chilled, frozen and institutional.

Pay
Salary Range: $94,200 - $122,500 Annual Bonus Eligibility Comprehensive Benefits Package Paid Time Off 401k & Company Match

Position Summary
Conducts Research and Product Development activities throughout Bimbo Bakeries USA Companies. Brings key skills and knowledge to the Baking Business in new product ideas/concepts and troubleshooting by hands-on and/or direction. To be able to initiate product and/or processing concepts from idea to final production start-up. Spearhead new technology development and its applications into all baked goods area.
