Senior Associate, Strategic Finance (International)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate to support the go-to-market efforts of our International organization, bringing Toast’s platform to restaurants outside the U.S. You’ll partner directly with International sales, marketing, and onboarding leaders, building topline and expense forecasts for each market and the reporting that tracks them against plan. This role is hands-on and close to the numbers, addressing strategic questions such as market performance, unit economics drivers, and operational efficiency. It offers high impact at the center of Toast’s international expansion, with regular exposure to senior and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a finance business partner to International go-to-market leadership, supporting market investment and resourcing decisions
• Run the budget and forecast cycle for International, partnering with budget owners to track spend against plan, refresh topline and expense projections through the quarter, and surface risks early
• Manage headcount planning and tracking across the International organization, spanning Sales, Onboarding, and Marketing, including capacity models, hiring plans, and reconciliation of actuals
• Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis for International financials and KPIs, ensuring key issues, risks, and business drivers are understood and highlighted
• Use unit economics such as LTV/CAC to pinpoint what’s driving results and where there’s room to improve
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses, modeling, and deep dives into strategic issues to improve decision-making
• Communicate clearly and transparently with cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Onboarding, and Marketing to build trusted relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, investment banking, or equivalent field
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Self-starter capable of independently navigating ambiguity
• Comfortable communicating complex financial information to non-finance audiences and presenting to all levels of management
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment

Skills

• Working knowledge of SQL or experience with BI tools
• Working knowledge of Adaptive, Netsuite, and Zip
• Public company Strategic Finance background
• Partnership with a Go-to-market organization
• Experience working in a high-growth SaaS company

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $117,000—$187,000 USD. The starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits. We align pay with local labor markets in our Geographic Pay Zone Philosophy.
