Senior Associate (Solicitor)

Forbes Solicitors are looking for an experienced Senior Associate to join our Commercial Employment team at our Gordon House office in Walton Summit, easily accessible from Preston, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, and Greater Manchester, with excellent transport links to the M6, M61, and M65.

About the role

This is a full-time opportunity for an Employment Solicitor ready to progress their career, take ownership of high-quality work, and be part of a collaborative, award-winning team. You will support a varied caseload of Employment matters, working closely with colleagues and clients to deliver practical, commercial advice and successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied and complex caseload of Employment matters.
• Advise and represent clients in areas such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE, and redundancy.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver excellent client care.
• Support business development, departmental growth, and people management.
• Work closely with Senior Associates and Partners on complex matters and strategic case planning.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX with at least 5 years’ PQE.
• Experience working within Employment law, including advocacy or tribunal/court attendance.
• Ability to manage deadlines, generate fees, and deliver against agreed targets.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail.
• A collaborative approach and alignment with the Firm’s values.

Qualifications

Desirable:

• Previous experience supervising Paralegals or Solicitors.
• Previous experience with Business Development activities, including networking with potential clients.

Full-time, 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
