About the role

As part of the Comparative Medicine team, you will fully support the Comparative Medicine laboratory animal veterinary program by providing veterinary care and technical assistance duties. Your hard work, innovative ideas, and focus will help Pfizer achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Provide veterinary care for all species used in research and development.
  • First line evaluation of clinical cases.
  • Under direction of clinical veterinarian, initiate diagnostics and treatments.
  • Monitor treatment and progress.
  • Preventive medicine: vaccinations, microbiology, disease surveillance.
  • After hours, weekend, and holiday clinical coverage.
  • Maintain stocks of clinical supplies and medicines.
  • Arrange for maintenance of clinical equipment.
  • May be required to work under one of the following: The United States Department of Agriculture Animal Welfare Act and associated Regulations and Standards, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, Good Laboratory Practices, Public Health Service Policy, and/or AAALAC accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • AA required (exempt) with 3-4 years experience required.
  • Experience providing hands-on clinical care to animal species.
  • Working knowledge of regulations related to the use of animals in research.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree preferred.
  • Certified Veterinary Technician, Registered Veterinary Technician, or Licensed Veterinary Technician certification preferred.

Schedule

This is an Essential Personnel role: Essential Personnel are required to report to their designated work location to ensure the operation of essential functions or departments during an emergency or when the business has suspended operations. Work Location Assignment: On Premise.

Pay

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $68,600.00 to $114,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
