The BioAnalytics US team, part of the Global CMC Development organization, plays a critical role in advancing Sanofi's R&D pipelines from early discovery through late-stage development. We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist with expertise in Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry to join the BioProcess Analytics group in Framingham, MA.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to a multidisciplinary team, driving analytical method development, optimization, and routine testing to support R&D programs and meet project goals within established timelines. This position offers meaningful growth opportunities — from expanding technical expertise and assuming increasing project leadership responsibilities to charting a pathway toward senior scientific or leadership roles within BioProcess Analytics and the broader BioAnalytics organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive method development and innovation by supporting the development of cutting-edge analytical method platforms, including HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, cIEF, and binding assays.
  • Deliver independent analytical testing supporting a variety of testing platforms in a non-GMP setting, directly enabling R&D Biologics Development programs.
  • Manage and execute projects with minimal supervision, including planning work assignments, analyzing and interpreting test results, and conducting troubleshooting to ensure high productivity and on-time delivery.
  • Communicate scientific findings effectively by drafting technical reports, study protocols, and result summaries, and presenting progress clearly to cross-functional team members.
  • Leverage digital and AI-powered tools to enhance data analysis workflows and accelerate analytical method development.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration by maintaining strong communication with internal colleagues across multiple concurrent projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related discipline with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience in a research laboratory or biopharma/biotech company (co-ops experience in biopharma/biotech is acceptable).
  • Hands-on experience with one or more separation science techniques for protein characterization, including UPLC/HPLC, LC/MS, cIEF.
  • Proficiency with data processing software such as Empower, Chromeleon, MassLynx, or OpenLab.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects across varied analytical testing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in LC-MS/MS techniques for protein post-translational modification (PTM) identification and quantitation, glycan analysis, and metabolites analysis (amino acids and vitamins), with proficient instrumental operation and troubleshooting skills on Waters or Thermo instrumentation.
  • Experience in operating automated, high-throughput lab instruments (e.g., Agilent Bravo, Hamilton liquid handling systems).
  • Experience with impurity-based assays including ELISA and qPCR.
  • Prior experience executing assays in a GLP/GxP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
  • Familiarity with iLab Solutions for laboratory data and resource management.
