About the role

This position involves preparing state and local tax incentives and credit documents for Kansas, Missouri, and other states, as well as researching enterprise zone locations and legislative updates. You will master core tax credit programs for Kansas and Missouri and manage a portion of non-core programs in other states. The role includes handling client accounts, ensuring paperwork is completed to maximize benefits, and preparing state training grants for employee training or retention.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assorted state and local tax incentives and credit documents for Kansas, Missouri, and other states.
• Research state enterprise zone locations and legislative changes in assigned states.
• Master all Kansas and Missouri core tax credit programs and manage a portion of non-core programs in other states.
• Manage a variety of clients, ensuring all paperwork is completed to maximize their benefit.
• Prepare state training grants on behalf of clients for new employee training or retention of existing employees.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting or a related field (CPA candidates preferred).
• Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments, and prioritize tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing across all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
• Proficient use of applicable technology.
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.

• Comfortable visiting clients and managing their accounts on an ongoing basis.
