About the role

As a Restructuring & Turnaround Senior Associate at Alvarez & Marsal, you will work alongside professionals recognized as authorities across a diverse set of industries, and with the guidance of the most talented restructuring practitioners, you will drive changes that preserve and create value, impacting the world’s most recognized organizations, and their people.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with companies across a variety of industries to help underperforming businesses navigate their restructuring process and create a lasting positive impact on the organization.
  • Advising on every aspect of the restructuring process, from strategy to cash conservation/liquidity management, business plan development and implementation.
  • Developing and executing restructuring and turnaround plans using analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting and finance.
  • Building and managing 13-week cash flow forecasts, conducting liquidation analyses, creating long-term business plans, implementing cash conservation strategies, and supporting bankruptcy case administration.
  • Leading work streams within projects, coaching and mentoring junior resources, and presenting analyses and insights to a variety of audiences.
  • Building consultative relationships with clients, legal counsel, and investment bankers, and proactively communicating with team members, external parties, and client leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 6+ years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, and/or consulting or corporate positions with a financial or accounting focus, 4+ years of which is direct restructuring experience.
  • A BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or other related analytical fields.
  • Advanced Microsoft, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Demonstrated progress toward professional certifications such as Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the fundamental aspects of Chapter 11 proceedings.
  • Advanced level of experience in financial modeling with the ability to build 13-week cash flow forecasts and 3-statement financial models with limited oversight.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting analyses and insights to a variety of audiences.

Benefits

The salary range is $160,000 - $185,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
