Senior Associate, Procurement
This hybrid position supports the procurement team at Clearway Energy Group, facilitating strategic vendor relationships and securing equipment for Clearway’s multi-gigawatt project pipeline. The role focuses on solar, high-voltage (HV), and grid infrastructure technology within the renewable energy industry. Based in Houston, TX; Denver, CO; or Scottsdale, AZ, the Senior Associate will report to the Senior Manager, Procurement (Solar & HV).
Responsibilities
- Support procurement transactions and internal reporting for owner-furnished high-voltage (transformer and breaker) and other solar equipment in coordination with development, construction, and operations teams.
- Manage supply and demand planning, scheduling, and supply chain activities for Clearway’s HV scope of supply.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute sourcing solutions for multi-technology projects.
- Support competitive RFx bidding, negotiations, and contracting efforts with internal stakeholders and OEMs.
- Provide document support and input on supply and service agreements to ensure efficient closure of negotiations and stakeholder review.
- Take ownership of and negotiate key contract exhibits, ensuring stakeholder engagement.
- Facilitate the procure-to-pay process for owner-furnished HV equipment, including vendor qualification, onboarding, selection, contract negotiations, approvals, purchase orders, invoice management, logistics, warehousing, and quality assurance.
- Document current and future pricing guidance for solar and grid infrastructure technologies, including mitigations for key policy risks.
- Work with internal subject-matter experts to generate forward-looking technology and cost projections and develop sourcing strategies.
- Support technology assessments and reviews of existing and upcoming product platforms, communicating opportunities and risks.
- Assist internal project and engineering teams with coordinating RFIs to equipment manufacturers.
- Support the project financing process by facilitating inputs from OEMs and interdisciplinary teams to independent engineering (IE) questions.
- Provide key inputs to cashflow models for organizational liquidity optimization.
- Support internal updates and reporting on organizational and procurement progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, supply chain, engineering/technical field, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain.
- 3+ years of energy industry experience.
- Familiarity with commercial negotiations and contracting.
- Effective project management, negotiation, contract management, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), OneNote, and document control.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience procuring high-voltage equipment, including transformers and breakers, or other relevant renewable energy procurement experience.
- Familiarity with SAP procurement systems.

Pay
Salary range across all U.S. locations: $108,000—$120,000 USD. This role is eligible for an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Schedule
Hybrid work model: office-based employees work in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays for collaboration, community-building, and company-provided meals and events. Site-based employees collaborate in-person daily.
