  • Provides conceptual design for specific projects
  • Performs site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolves design issues during construction phase
  • Supervises or directs the workflow of less-experienced engineers in performing HVAC or other system design

As a Senior Associate Principal Engineer at Southland Industries, you will:

  • Serve as design professional at project team design meetings
  • Prepare complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating
  • Perform more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, etc
  • Provide conceptual design for specific projects

Qualifications

  • PE License required
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable systems design, such as HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as general understanding of system operations
  • Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of employees, clients and general contractors
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Revit, CADD, and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Engineering
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of mechanical design and construction industry specific experience a plus
  • Experience on hospitals, data centers, central plants, cogeneration, life sciences manufacturing and laboratories
  • Experience with integrated project delivery (IPD), target value design (TVD) and design-build (DB)
  • Experience with the design and construction of emerging or alternative mechanical system (DOAS, TDV, UFAD)
  • Experience with sustainable building design and building automation energy modeling
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Desired Industry participation

Pay

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (Colorado/New York City/California/Washington/Maryland) this ranges from $155,000.00-$175,000.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.

Schedule

Contingent Employment: All employment offers are contingent upon successful drug tests, background checks, and professional reference checks. Roles that include driving as an essential job duty will be required to have a successful Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR).
