Senior Associate, Mortgage Loan

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage a portfolio of commercial mortgage loans by analyzing financial statements and rent rolls to identify potential credit or market risks and assess compliance with loan covenants.
  • Respond to borrower requests including lease approvals, reserve disbursements, ownership transfers, insurance claims, easements, guaranty releases, or collateral substitutions.
  • Process construction and bridge loan draws in accordance with project budgets and contractual terms.
  • Identify and track watchlist loans, preparing updates and analysis for regular portfolio review meetings.
  • Partner with origination, legal, and senior leadership teams on loan modifications and document changes.
  • Foster and maintain positive borrower relationships.
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing process and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan data across internal systems to support timely and reliable reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in real estate, finance, economics, accounting, or a related business discipline with an investment concentration.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial real estate lending, with a deep understanding of complex debt structures including revolvers, senior loans, mezzanine financing, and securitized products.
  • Extensive expertise in interpreting complex loan documents and overseeing construction loan budgets; familiarity with Built is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with Argus or Excel-based financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding of the life insurance industry and its regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of real estate investment strategies and market trends.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with financial modeling software such as Argus.
  • Knowledge of real estate investment terminology and concepts.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $110,000-$125,000.
  • Overtime eligible: Exempt.

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location.
