Job Summary

Fervo Energy is advancing the next generation of geothermal energy to deliver 24/7 carbon-free power at scale. The Senior Associate, Integrated Planning is responsible for analyzing and coordinating data across the development portfolio to support decision-making and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze & Performance Reporting
    • Synthesize data from across the development portfolio into weekly and rolling look-ahead performance reports across the SQDC framework: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
    • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and Excel-based tools that give leadership a clear, current view of portfolio status and trends.
    • Conduct variance analysis on portfolio performance vs. plan, identifying patterns and surfacing insights that inform planning decisions.
    • Prepare materials for look-ahead planning meetings, GeoBlock scoping meetings, and executive reporting cadences.
    • Track capital cost per GeoBlock vs. plan in coordination with Finance, flagging deviations that require attention.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Coordinate with Well Delivery, Surface Facilities, Power Delivery, Appraisal, and Finance teams to gather planning inputs and ensure milestone commitments are documented and tracked.
    • Support GeoBlock scoping meetings by consolidating stakeholder inputs, distributing materials in advance, and maintaining scope documentation from initial planning through execution; facilitate recurring or lower-complexity scoping meetings independently as capability develops.
    • Track cross-functional dependencies and communicate impacts when activities shift, ensuring the right people have the right information.
    • Serve as a reliable day-to-day coordination point across the development team, following through on action items and keeping planning workflows moving.
  • Schedule Fluency & Milestone Tracking
    • Read and interpret integrated development schedules across active GeoBlocks, using schedule data as an analytical input to performance reporting and planning conversations.
    • Monitor milestone adherence across the portfolio and flag schedule risk early, in coordination with GeoBlock teams.
    • Maintain schedule accuracy by working with functional teams to keep data current and consistent.
    • Maintain the LRM (Last Responsible Moment) date register and report the LRM Adherence Rate across active GeoBlocks, tracking decision-timing performance, not setting decision dates.
  • Planning Operations & Continuous Improvement
    • Support the development and maintenance of planning templates, reporting frameworks, and process documentation.
    • Contribute to the refinement of planning standards across development phases, from appraisal through commissioning.
    • Analyze defect and lessons-learned data for recurring patterns across GeoBlocks and surface findings to the Sr. Manager, Integrated Planning for incorporation decisions.
    • Apply AI tools to speed up report generation, dashboard refreshes, and lessons-learned synthesis.

Requirements

  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geology, or a related technical field.
    • 5-7 years of experience in capital development analysis, operations, or technical program management, with direct exposure to oil and gas or power/utilities development.
    • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including advanced Excel and experience building dashboards in Power BI or equivalent tools.
    • Ability to read and work with development schedules in Microsoft Project or equivalent tools as an analytical input.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex data into clear, concise summaries for both technical and leadership audiences.
    • High follow-through and ownership mindset, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment.
  • PREFERRED:
    • Preferred MBA from an accredited program.
    • Experience in both upstream oil and gas and electric power or utilities environments.
    • Familiarity with lean or pull planning methodologies and how they apply to complex capital development programs.
    • Experience supporting capital stage-gate reviews, AFE processes, or multi-asset development planning.
    • Working understanding of how planning and operational milestones connect to commercial commitments such as power purchase agreements or offtake obligations.
    • Exposure to geothermal, renewable energy, or energy transition initiatives.
    • Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, enterprise document management systems, Bluebeam, or comparable scheduling and document control platforms.
    • Comfortable adopting AI-assisted tools to improve reporting, analysis, and knowledge-management workflows.
