About the role

The INFRA practice within Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate to support clients in the Public Sector Services (PSS) area. This role involves working on high-impact projects that address critical infrastructure challenges, improve operational efficiency, and deliver value to public sector stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Client Support: Advising clients on strategic and operational aspects of infrastructure, including portfolio optimization, workplace strategy, facilities management, and lifecycle management of capital assets and fleet.
  • Project Delivery: Supporting project teams in delivering high-quality work, conducting data analysis, preparing client deliverables such as reports, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Engagement Contribution: Managing assigned tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Technology Integration: Leveraging tools like AI, automation, and advanced analytics to support project delivery and enhance client outcomes.
  • Data Analysis: Performing detailed data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and developing actionable insights for clients.
  • Problem Solving: Collaborating with team members to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.
  • Internal Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams to support resource management, pipeline tracking, invoicing, and other project-level administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Construction, Construction Management, Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, or Business. Advanced degrees in related fields are a plus but not required.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in construction, construction management, capital projects, corporate real estate, management consulting, or workplace consulting. Experience in supporting the delivery of capital projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and operations is required.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with PSS agency operations, procurement processes, and regulatory environments, particularly in the areas of capital projects, real estate, capital assets, and fleet management. Knowledge of corporate real estate operating models and infrastructure portfolio management is a plus. Exposure to construction contracts and delivery methods, such as Design-Build, CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk), and Public-Private Partnerships (P3), is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Public Sector Knowledge: Understanding of PSS agency operations, procurement processes, and regulatory environments, particularly in the areas of capital projects, real estate, capital assets, and fleet management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with experience in project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to approach challenges with innovative thinking and develop practical solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in deliverables.
