Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development

Leads and manages all development and fundraising activities for the Department of Athletics, including supervision of fundraising staff within The Bulldog Foundation. The Bulldog Foundation is a separate non-profit organization responsible for providing funding for scholarships, student-athlete recruitment, development, and retention, athletic facilities, and other strategic initiatives that help Bulldog student-athletes succeed in the classroom, compete at the highest level, and thrive in life. Ensures compliance with policies, rules, and procedures of the NCAA, Pac-12 Conference, CASE, CSU, and California State University, Fresno. Reports directly to the Director of Athletics and partners with University Advancement to coordinate prospect identification, assignment, cultivation, solicitation, gift acknowledgment, and stewardship. Serves as the primary liaison with The Bulldog Foundation Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain donor relationships to successfully solicit major gifts.
• Articulate the mission and aspirations of Fresno State Athletics to all constituencies.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward major individual and institutional donors at high six- and seven-figure levels.
• Inspire philanthropic support from high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and major foundations.
• Build or expand a comprehensive, sustainable fundraising enterprise and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, Pac-12 Conference, CASE, CSU, and Fresno State policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with University Advancement and The Bulldog Foundation Board of Directors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; major in business, marketing, public relations/communications, kinesiology, or sports administration preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience managing a development department for a Division I athletics program or a comprehensive intercollegiate athletics program.

• Transparent, collaborative leadership style with superb decision-making skills.
• Commitment to teamwork, sound judgment, integrity, and high energy.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and maintain a professional approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in sports administration or business administration.
• Experience managing and growing an annual scholarship fund generating over $3.5 million per year.
• Experience developing a capital campaign for a comprehensive intercollegiate athletics program or Division I athletics program.

Pay

The anticipated salary hiring range is $10,000 – $13,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
