About the role
The Senior Associate, Accounting will play a crucial role in scaling Prime Residential ("Prime" or the "company") by supporting and modernizing corporate accounting operations. This is a high-impact opportunity for a motivated, solution-oriented professional who enjoys improving workflows, building repeatable processes, and partnering with external advisors in a growing business.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounting operations and investor records of investment funds and entities, including capital accounts, capital calls, distributions, and investment funding activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc investor reporting, including capital account statements and responding to investor requests.
- Aid in track record updates and performance calculations for the investment portfolio.
- Maintain liquidity and prepare cash forecasts, capitalization reports, and distribution analyses.
- Calculate and coordinate management fee accruals and payments in accordance with governing agreements.
- Lead audit process, including preparation of PBCs, responding to inquiries, and addressing auditor comments.
- Support annual tax compliance efforts by preparing schedules and responding to tax team requests.
- Manage debt covenant compliance and reporting in coordination with the capital markets team.
- Partner with acquisitions and capital markets teams to coordinate new investments, funding activities, and accurately record related accounting entries.
- Oversee and review work performed by third-party accountants for management companies, including AP, expense allocations, cash activity, and monthly reporting.
- Assist in developing, documenting, and improving accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives and other ad-hoc projects as directed by the Director of Corporate Accounting, SVP of Accounting & Tax, or CFO.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 to 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate or multi-family investments.
- Audit experience and CPA a plus.
- Experience preparing GAAP financial statements and consolidations for real estate partnerships.
- Strong MS Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with RealPage a plus.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
