Senior Assistant Caseworker- DCFS Salt Lake Region (Tooele)
Starting pay: $17.95 hourly. Hybrid schedule (in-office and telework) may be available; eligibility determined by agency management and subject to change. All employees must physically work within the State of Utah boundaries.
About The Role
The Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) Metro office is seeking a highly motivated individual with professional office experience to join a team dedicated to keeping children safe and strengthening families in our communities.
Location: 852 East Cedarview Circle, Tooele, Utah, 84074.
Employees hired for this recruitment will be subject to the Driver Eligibility standards. Background check required.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in covering the reception area and greeting walk-in clients.
- Preparing letters and documentation for courts and/or clients.
- Answering and directing incoming telephone calls to appropriate staff.
- Mailing certified mail to clients or sheriff; tracking in SAFE case system.
- Creating, maintaining, scanning, and archiving files, reports, and documents.
- Retrieving files for caseworkers, attorneys, supervisors, and audits.
- Assisting with 24-hour notifications and prior records.
- Taking and transcribing minutes at staff and team meetings.
- Assisting with completing Medicaid applications.
- Processing payments, managing financial transactions, and handling related tasks.
- Transporting clients and children.
- Supervising and monitoring visits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Utah driver's license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro for document preparation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with people sensitively, tactfully, and professionally.
- Strict adherence to confidentiality.
- Strong public relations skills.
- Attention to detail for accuracy of information.
Preferences
- Previous and/or current experience working for the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS).
- Experience working in an office setting.
- Experience with the State's social welfare database system, SAFE.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace applications.
- Adobe Pro experience.
