Senior Asset Performance Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support energy yield assessments using PVsyst and related performance modeling tools.
  • Maintain and improve energy modeling assumptions and methodologies.
  • Analyze operational production data and identify root causes of under-performance.
  • Compare actual plant performance against modeled expectations.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and performance analysis.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for Independent Engineers and consultants.
  • Care for technical documentation required for financing and lender milestones.
  • Track and manage review comments and closeout requirements.
  • Afford assistance with mechanical completion, substantial completion, and project closeout activities.
  • Support capacity and performance testing efforts.
  • Review testing procedures and results.
  • Analyze SCADA and field data to validate system performance.
  • Afford assistance in developing standardized commissioning and testing procedures.
  • Support acceptance testing activities for solar and battery energy storage projects.
  • Provide technical support during project financing, acquisitions, and due diligence efforts.
  • Afford assistance with internal process improvements related to project closeout and performance verification.
  • Support performance analysis for: Solar + BESS projects, Standalone battery energy storage systems, Advanced inverter and controls technologies.
  • Help develop internal performance benchmarks and testing methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting solar and/or BESS performance analysis, commissioning, or energy modeling.
  • Experience with PVsyst or similar energy modeling software.
  • Familiarity with project finance milestones, Independent Engineer processes, and EPC project execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with internal teams, consultants, lenders, and contractors.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
