Roles and Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components into sub-assemblies across multiple models in each of their respective product lines
- Ensure proper fit of all parts by drilling, grinding, or shimming to adjust to a proper fit
- Interpret and provide feedback on engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies and recommending design improvements
- Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues during assembly and testing
- Perform final system checks, alignments, and functional testing to ensure equipment meets specifications
- Move large parts and machines around manufacturing floor using forklift or overhead crane
- Lead tasks and projects while mentoring team members
- Assist in developing and documenting standard work instructions and assembly procedures
Required Qualifications
- Technical school training, apprenticeship, or relevant industry certification in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment
- Advanced ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting mechanical and pneumatic systems independently
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and fitment techniques
- Attention to detail with a dedication to quality and safety
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, and reach
- Ability to lift, pull up, or push up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assembling custom or engineered-to-order equipment
- Prior experience in wastewater, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery manufacturing
- Led manufacturing processes or continuous improvement initiatives (Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
