Senior Architect/Designer
About the role
OMA New York is seeking Senior Architects/Designers to join their team. This role involves contributing to projects across all phases, from initial concept through design development, documentation, and construction. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional design sensibility, strong conceptual thinking, robust technical and communication skills, and the ability to operate at the highest professional level. Responsibilities include developing client relationships, leading and mentoring a team, and completing high-quality work through all project phases. Senior Architects will work directly with consultants and local architects to produce comprehensive design packages, coordinate technical documentation, and oversee project realization. Depending on project needs and experience, they may also lead teams responsible for specific aspects of a project.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience that includes all design phases (design and execution)
- Professional or Graduate Degree in Architecture
- Professional proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe Suite
- Knowledge of US building codes and standards
- Portfolio of realized and/or published projects representing a wide range of program types
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of presenting and coordinating projects through all phases to client and consultant teams
- Confidence working collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment
- Fluency in English
- PREFERRED: Experience in delivering full construction documentation packages, knowledge and experience in working on Revit/BIM projects, project management and/or team leadership experience through all phases, fluency in additional languages (notably Japanese and/or French)
- LICENSE TO PRACTICE ARCHITECTURE IN THE US (NCARB registration a plus)
Qualifications

They will also work closely with the Associates and Partners.
