Senior Architect

About the role

Lead technical direction across products and customer programs—reference architectures, integration strategy, and pragmatic roadmaps that engineering can execute.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate target architectures for web applications, APIs, data platforms, and cloud deployments.
• Lead discovery with customers and internal teams; translate constraints into phased technical plans and risk registers.
• Guide technology choices (build vs. buy), non-functional requirements, and security-by-design patterns.
• Mentor senior engineers; raise the bar on diagrams, RFCs, and operational readiness checklists.
• Partner with techno consulting and product leadership on estimates, staffing models, and technical sales support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software architecture, principal engineering, or technical leadership roles on enterprise systems.
• Breadth across backend services, data stores, cloud infrastructure, and integration patterns (REST, events, batch).
• Proven experience presenting to engineering and executive audiences; strong written communication.
• Track record delivering in regulated or high-trust environments with clear accountability for outcomes.
• Comfort operating as a player-coach—reviewing code and designs while staying strategic.

Nice to have

• Experience with compliance-heavy domains (health, food safety, financial services).
• Hands-on familiarity with Django/Python ecosystems and modern observability stacks.
• TOGAF, AWS/Azure certifications, or equivalent—not required but valued if paired with practical delivery.
