For our client, a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space, we are seeking a Senior Applied Scientist in Cyber Defense. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a Telecommunications & Hardware environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

  • Partner with security practitioners to enhance workflows with agentic systems
  • Direct complex AI initiatives, impacting architecture and engineering decisions
  • Develop context-aware agents that analyze security data and support autonomy
  • Establish evaluation protocols for AI models and agents in realistic environments
  • Use feedback and results to optimize agent performance and effectiveness
  • Transition AI capabilities from experimentation to production with robust software engineering
  • Evaluate and integrate the company AI technologies with strategic partner capabilities

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 8+ years building and shipping AI or intelligent software systems, with ownership of production initiatives
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python; familiarity with TypeScript or C#
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI systems, including large language models and agentic architectures
  • Experience in AI evaluations and benchmarks using curated datasets and metrics
  • Proficiency in MLOps practices for AI deployment and optimization
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex, cross-functional projects in cybersecurity

Pay

$184,000 – $356,500 annually
