Senior Applied Research Scientist, Data Curation

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Applied Research Scientist, Data Curation to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will focus on advancing multimodal data extraction and curation methods that support large-scale research and production pipelines. You will develop efficient approaches for document parsing, deduplication, and dataset validation across very large data environments. The position also partners closely with engineers and research stakeholders to improve scalability, documentation, and overall data quality. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $224,000 – $356,500 annually Responsibilities Develop efficient models and data pipelines for multimodal data extraction and curation. Build document parsing and content deduplication pipelines at petabyte scale. Optimize curation methodologies for multimodal data across GPU clusters. Craft datasets, metrics, and validation scripts for research methodologies. Assist engineers in scaling pipelines with inference microservices. Write documentation and training materials to communicate research effectively. Stay updated on industry advancements in data curation. Qualifications Master's, Ph.D., or equivalent experience in data curation, document AI, or multimodal research. Track record of publications in leading conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, or KDD. 10+ years of experience in multimodal system development. Hands-on experience with computer vision and document extraction models. Expertise managing distributed data frameworks such as Ray, Spark, or Dask. Excellent Python programming skills with experience in modern deep learning frameworks like PyTorch. Strong communication skills, including experience mentoring junior engineers.
