Senior Application Security Engineer - DevSecOps & AI Security

About the role

Denken Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer with expertise in DevSecOps and AI security. The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of experience designing and implementing AppSec programs, integrating SAST, SCA, DAST, and related tooling into CI/CD pipelines. They should possess deep knowledge of application security testing approaches and be proficient in evaluating and securing AI-enabled application components.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AppSec programs within DevSecOps
• Integrate SAST, SCA, DAST, and related tooling into CI/CD pipelines
• Define KPIs and deliver actionable dashboards and executive reporting
• Evaluate and secure AI-enabled application components, including LLM integrations, agent-based workflows, and AI-driven APIs
• Ensure secure development practices for AI-generated code, including integration with SAST, SCA, and CI/CD pipelines for automated scanning and policy enforcement
• Perform detailed information security risk assessments and recommend mitigating controls
• Promote security as a business enablement function with documentation, metrics, and strong verbal communication
• Embed security controls into developer workflows, enabling "shift-left" security while maintaining delivery velocity
• Translate technical findings into business risk, supporting prioritization, remediation strategies, and leadership reporting

Requirements

• Strong experience in application and cloud security architecture, including APIs, microservices, and modern application patterns
• Experience with enterprise AppSec platforms and ecosystems, including: GitHub Enterprise, ADO, Sonatype, Fortify, Snyk, Jfrog, etc.
• Proficiency in one or more coding languages, such as C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript
• At least 5 years in application security, DevSecOps, or related roles; relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CSSLP, CCSP, CISA, GIAC, OSCP, etc.) preferred
• Must pass Insider Threat Protection background checks

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with application vulnerability management and metrics
• Experience with industry frameworks and standards (e.g., OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, NIST/ISO)

Pay

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually.

Schedule

This role is hybrid, with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.
