Senior Application Project Manager

About the role

The Application PM also works in conjunction with the Business PM to facilitate the collection of application and data information which is required by the Migration Factory and Build Services. The Application PM is responsible for management of database migrations from existing Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server and UDB platforms to new infrastructure leveraging high-density virtualization, CPU sharing, clustering, SRDF, and other replication technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage database migrations from existing Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server and UDB platforms to new infrastructure leveraging high-density virtualization, CPU sharing, clustering, SRDF, and other replication technologies.
• Oversee testing of enterprise application databases, and subsequent troubleshooting efforts.
• Facilitate the collection of application and data information required by the Migration Factory and Build Services.
• Manage consistency groups, migration schedule planning, pre-migration and post-migration application latency baselines.
• Develop and execute test scripts for application testing.
• Create and maintain runbooks for automation.

Qualifications

• Data Center experience: Specifically consolidation/migrations.
• Large Scale Application Migrations: 20+ applications from one Data Center to another.
• Discovery experience: Manual and electronic probes, application owner interviews, coordinating solution design for migration of applications, move-day coordination, go-live.
• Citrix experience (preferred).
• Middleware technology experience: WebSphere, WebLogic, .NET, etc.

Job Description

This position will require technical collaboration with management, application development, and infrastructure engineering groups. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
