About the Role
The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, testing, and coordinating to resolve reported data or technical issues for Cognizant QicLink software programs and associated applications, as well as helping support data requests and integrations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business Owners and technical teams to implement the strategy, design, and delivery of enhancements, integrations with internal and external partners, and maintenance of the QicLink system.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, test, and coordinate to resolve reported software, data, or technical issues for Cognizant QicLink software programs and associated applications.
- Provide support for resolving QicLink data requests and issues.
- Offer technical support for the QicLink system.
- Provide high-level resolution estimates as needed.
- Identify ways to improve or reduce defects and enhance performance.
- Participate in software testing, QA, patch releases, and software upgrades.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- 7+ years in a related role.
- Experience with SQL, SSIS, and data manipulation.
- Prior experience with Cognizant QicLink system.
- Experience with EDI, APIs, and Web Services (a plus).
- Exposure and understanding of healthcare claims processing and eligibility (a plus).
- Exceptional analytic and troubleshooting skills.
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in a technical implementation capacity.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple requests at once.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment (helpful).
- Passion for automating and excelling at identifying gaps in processes.
- Strong bias for action; ability to take ownership and think long-term.
- Healthcare experience (a plus).
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience required.

Work Environment
This is a remote position. The company supports a remote-friendly culture with flexibility to work from home. To ensure a smooth and efficient remote work experience, a reliable internet connection through a cable broadband or fiber optic provider with speeds of at least 100Mbps download/25Mbps upload is required.
This role operates in an office environment requiring extended sitting and computer work.
