Senior Appian Developer

About the role

Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Appian Developer to join the IT team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of secure enterprise applications and process automation solutions. The role is fully remote for residents of the listed states and involves up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Build intuitive SAIL forms and dashboards that aggregate data from multiple systems for a unified user experience.
• Design and maintain Custom Data Types (CDTs) and Record Types that support business applications and integrations.
• Develop end‑to‑end process models that automate business processes, approvals, notifications, and case management.
• Design and configure Connected Systems and Integration Objects to integrate Appian with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
• Develop Appian integrations and Web APIs to securely exchange data with internal and external systems.
• Implement secure handshakes between systems using OAuth 2.0, SAML, or certificate‑based authentication.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
• Security+ CE Certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 baseline certification)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Appian versions 24.x or higher

Qualifications

• Appian Certified Senior Developer (ACD‑201) or Lead Developer (highly preferred)
• Experience with Appian Data Fabric for unifying disparate data sources
• Background in Java or JavaScript for developing custom plugins when standard connectors are insufficient
• PeopleSoft familiarity: understanding of PeopleSoft Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, and ability to work with PeopleSoft technical teams to define service requirements
• Experience working in a Center of Excellence (COE) or an Agile/DevOps environment
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering secure, high‑quality solutions

Skills

• Appian expertise (SAIL, CDT/Record Types, process modeling, Connected Systems, Integration Objects, Web APIs)
• Advanced SQL skills: writing and optimizing complex queries, joins, stored procedures, functions, triggers, performance tuning, indexing, data modeling
• Web services: expert knowledge of REST/SOAP, JSON, and XML for cross‑system communication
• Security authentication: OAuth 2.0, SAML, certificate‑based mechanisms
