Senior Apparel Designer – Womens Active (Onsite – New York, NY)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Apparel Designer Women's Active for one of our global retail clients. The focus of the role is to have strong sketching ability, and the technical expertise to independently lead fittings and develop tech packs. Typically reports to the Design Director. This is a 40-hour per week, 4-month contract (possible extension), an onsite role in New York, NY. This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee.

Responsibilities

• Creating original concepts that encompass style, color and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends.
• Producing sketches and making seasonal presentations of proposed designs.
• Analyzing fashion trends.
• Partnering with sourcing and materials development.
• Providing basic fit and body block information and attending fit sessions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with sketching and the technical expertise to independently lead fittings and develop tech packs.
• Design experience in fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear.
• Must provide a portfolio.
• Experience creating original concepts that encompass style, color and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends.
• Experience producing sketches and making seasonal presentations of proposed designs.
• Analyzing fashion trends.
• Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
