Senior Android Engineer, Design System

About the role

This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available. Compensation: $190,800 – $267,100 annually.

Responsibilities

• Evolving the company’s design system by enhancing capabilities and developing reusable components
• Collaborating with product teams, designers, and engineers to ensure effective UI infrastructure
• Improving performance at scale through optimized Android architecture and development practices
• Advancing accessibility across the platform by building accessible components and documentation
• Strengthening developer experience by enhancing tooling and platform specifications for UI consistency

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on cross-functional projects
• Proven experience in building and maintaining shared UI infrastructure like design systems or component libraries
• Strong skills in modern Android development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Expertise in UI architecture, scalable component design, and performance optimization
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and the desire to improve accessibility in products
