Senior Android Contractor

About the role

As a Senior Android Contractor at Sparq, you will define, design, and implement mobile applications for Android smartphones. You will collaborate closely with engineers, UI designers, and product managers to deliver high‑quality software in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and implement solutions on various Android mobile devices.
• Communicate regularly with the mobile engineering team, UI designers, and product managers.
• Develop mobile applications in Android using Kotlin.
• Build new functionality for existing software products using Kotlin and Java.
• Apply design patterns such as MVVM and MVC.
• Handle asynchronous operations in both Java and Kotlin.
• Participate in a small, experienced, energetic team following a rapid, agile development schedule.
• Engage in Scrum ceremonies and processes.
• Provide general technical support and training to Sparq and its clients.

Requirements

• Consultative approach and strong problem‑solving skills to align digital solutions with long‑term business goals.
• Hands‑on experience with AI tools or a strong desire to experiment, learn, and champion AI adoption.
• Claude Certified Developer or Architect highly preferred; opportunity to obtain certification as a Sparq colleague.
