About the role
The Office of Navajo Public Defender seeks dedicated lawyers to defend the civil and fundamental rights of indigent Navajos in the largest indigenous court system in North America. You will work on a variety of cases including criminal and delinquency proceedings, from arraignment to appeal, and collaborate closely with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Defend the civil and fundamental rights of indigent Navajos
- Represent adults and juveniles in criminal and delinquency proceedings
- Optimize service to the unique Navajo community
- Develop and apply strategic and tactical trial skills
- Work closely with clients and colleagues
Requirements

Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited law school
