Responsibilities
- Create and enhance risk indicators to improve delinquency rates across SBS/GCP portfolios.
- Analyze high-balance defaulters in the GCP/SBS portfolio, identify new opportunities, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement strategies.
- Evaluate external data sources—work with third-party vendors to assess product relevance and use cases for AMEX.
- Develop risk strategies using external/internal data sources and collaborate with AI/ML teams to define business requirements, analyze impact, and implement controls post-UAT.
- Develop risk assessment capabilities using GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot).
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in risk analytics or a similar role.
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Economics).
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to apply quantitative methods and business acumen to build actionable insights.
- Proven ability to translate complex, disparate information into cohesive conclusions for colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders.
- Ability to work independently and across a matrix organization, collaborating with business partners, functional owners, technology teams, and external vendors.
- Rigorous, analytical approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization across teams and geographies.
- Proactive in identifying issues, delivering key findings, and advising on solutions to mitigate risks.
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available for these positions).
Experience in developing GenAI-based capabilities is preferred.
