About the role

At Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced, intelligent solutions for the aerospace and defense industry, you’ll help shape the future of logistics processes. This onsite role in Cedar Rapids, IA, involves scaling up and improving logistics processes through cross-functional collaboration with Design Engineering, Program Office, Operations, Quality Engineering, and other teams to ensure project milestones and performance requirements are met.

The Industrial Engineer will drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product performance, reducing variation, and lowering costs. You’ll work directly with all levels of staff—from the production floor to senior leadership—to ensure products meet quality standards while maintaining program milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data mining and analysis to leverage past lessons and incorporate improvements on new products.
  • Drive projects pertaining to process automation and complete small to medium-scale projects.
  • Design tooling and fixtures for production, adapting machine or equipment design to production conditions.
  • Layout logistics areas and materials handling systems.
  • Provide guidance to design teams on drawings, prints, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Implement statistical process control (SPC).
  • Complete detailed technical reports and deliver technical presentations.
  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Procure equipment and materials related to logistics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Manufacturing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP.
  • CAD experience.
  • Logistics experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in the aviation industry.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Factors such as work experience, location, education/training, and key skills will be considered when extending an offer.
