Senior Analyst, Legal Operations & Litigation Support
About the role
The Senior Assistant, Legal Operations and Litigation Support provides administrative support to the AVP of Legal Operations and the Litigation team. This role manages all aspects of Legal’s supplier management program, including onboarding, monitoring, and offboarding of Synchrony suppliers. Additionally, the role supports the Litigation team in reviewing and assigning new litigation matters, communicating with internal and external counsel, coordinating settlement payments, generating tax reporting, administering the litigation database, and handling case-related documentation for lawsuits, regulatory inquiries, arbitration matters, threatened litigation, escalated customer complaints, and complex subpoenas.
Responsibilities
- Provide supplier risk management support, including managing supplier relationships throughout their lifecycle, partnering with Sourcing, Purchasing, and Supplier Risk Management teams to execute tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with Legal supplier owners to meet supplier risk management program requirements, leverage reporting, and maintain required documentation.
- Manage day-to-day purchasing and invoice inquiries on behalf of suppliers.
- Support Synchrony’s Litigation team in all aspects of case handling, including lawsuits, regulatory inquiries, arbitration matters, threatened litigation, escalated customer complaints, and complex subpoenas.
- Manage multiple cases/projects simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Assist with litigation case intake and assignment processes.
- Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of litigation matters for the litigation team and other functions (operations, compliance, and risk).
- Generate year-end settlement reports for 1099 tax reporting and collaborate with the Tax Center of Excellence for tax filings.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and the internal finance team regarding settlement payments and financial administration.
- Coordinate with the internal finance team on arbitration fees, litigation settlement contributions, and account adjustments.
- Meet weekly with the AVP, Legal Operations Manager, Sr. Assistant Litigation Support, and Legal Executive Administrative Assistant to review, reconcile, and resolve billing issues with law firm invoices.
- Assist with quarterly settlement check accruals.
- Serve as the Litigation Database System Administrator.
- Maintain litigation records in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Generate Legal Hold notices for Synchrony employees at the direction of Litigation and Commercial counsel.
- Generate weekly Legal Hold reports for Synchrony Information Technology teams.
- Assist with document production requests for AVP, Legal Operations, Litigation team, and outside counsel.
- Assist with in-person service of process across Synchrony hubs.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to attend the Supplier Manager course and become Supplier Manager certified.
- At least 3 years of Excel experience, with working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new applications (T360 and Exterro) with training to serve as an application administrator.
- Experience with OneFD.
- Experience with or ability to learn ACM, I2R, Debt Manager (DM 10), and Content Navigator Production (statements and letters).
- Experience with or ability to learn Coupa and SAS Viya.
- Willingness to work US time zones (8 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday) with a flexible schedule, including overtime.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Synchrony’s overall business operations.
- Familiarity with litigation documentation (complaint, subpoena, etc.).
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with cross-functional teams.
- Professional etiquette, positive attitude, and good attendance.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

- Experience in a legal environment (law firm or in-house legal department) or familiarity with litigation.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $112,000 USD annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within this range will be based on work experience, skill level, or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to the market in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle.
Schedule
This role operates within US time zones (8 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday) and may require a flexible schedule, including overtime.
