About the role
This position will give you the opportunity to:
- Act as a crucial advisor to the CFO and senior management team, driving the financial planning and analysis function of the company
- Lead the development of short and long-term financial plans, aligning them with the company's strategic objectives
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities; provide actionable insights to guide decision-making
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all departments
- Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators, comparing actual results with forecasts, and investigating variances to understand underlying business drivers
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks while capitalizing on opportunities
- Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to the CFO, senior management, and non-finance stakeholders
- Collaborate with and help mentor the Accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth
- Work closely with the Accounting team to accomplish shared goals
- Translate complex questions into data-driven analyses to allow leaders to make informed decisions
- Conduct analysis around product profitability, pricing, ROI of investments
- Maintain per subscriber and unit economics of company revenue streams
- Conduct internal and external benchmarking to identify best practices and metrics
- Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives
Requirements
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning within a manufacturing/SaaS context
- Experience in a manufacturing/SaaS industries highly preferred
- Experience utilizing AI to develop dashboards and automate FP&A work
- Passion for AI and how it can be used to grow and evolve Waites’ FP&A practices
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Expert proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools
- Proficiency in Netsuite or related ERP systems
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Excellent leadership and team development skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
