About the role

This position will manage compliance of the USCA retirement programs, administer the global equity awards program, and lead various projects within the Employee Benefits department, with a focus on Retirement and Savings. The role provides analytical support to the Retirement & Savings team, assists with non-US plan design analysis, and handles accounting and financial functions for the Retirement & Savings team in both the U.S. and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Lead U.S. Retirement and Savings Plan Compliance:
    • Manage annual U.S. Retirement and Savings Plan audits with internal and external auditors.
    • Coordinate annual delivery of Summary Annual Reports (SARs) to all U.S. employees.
    • Conduct Defined Contribution non-discrimination testing annually with the recordkeeper.
    • Manage Summary Plan Description documents and coordinate updates with the Director – Retirement & Savings Team and Legal department.
    • Review plan-related data between vendor and HRIS, implementing corrections as needed.
    • Review detailed quarterly pension projections and support the annual contribution process.
    • Review annual Pension Investment Plan (PIP) contributions.
    • Facilitate acquisition implementation, including onboarding benefit efforts and merging retirement plan provisions.
    • Participate in regular Retirement and Savings meetings to discuss strategic and tactical priorities.
    • Resolve Retirement and Savings workflow items from employees, HR Business Partners, Legal, and third-party administrators.
    • Recommend process and system improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead daily administration of the global equity awards program:
    • Review daily transactions to ensure system data and tax withholding accuracy.
    • Support drafting, approval, and distribution of new documents.
    • Maintain tax rate profiles for U.S. and non-U.S. participants.
    • Troubleshoot participant inquiries and erroneous system transactions.
    • Ensure internal partners (Payroll, Finance) receive appropriate reporting from vendors.
    • Support best practice reviews of administrative plan features.
  • Global Retirement Program Governance and Administration:
    • Develop a global pension plan roadmap, including plan rules, governance structures, and statutory requirements.
    • Support global pension plan design review and recommendations for large S-W countries.
    • Lead global pension plan design review and recommendations for small and medium-sized S-W countries.
    • Manage annual global retirement plan audits with internal and external auditors.
    • Address open governance challenges and new compliance regulations with local country teams.
    • Support Defined Benefit risk mitigation, including potential conversions from DB to DC structures.
    • Assist with due diligence efforts around global pension plans in mergers and acquisitions.
    • Facilitate conversion of acquired pension plans to S-W systems.
  • Accounting and Financial Management:
    • Handle monthly and quarterly Employee Benefits department accounting entries for the Retirement & Savings team.
    • Work with Employee Benefit teams to set annual U.S. and Canada plan budget amounts.
    • Review invoices in the Coupa system before payment.
    • Support Total Rewards department expense budgeting, analysis, and management reporting.
    • Ensure financial compliance for Benefit plans and associated reporting.
    • Document and maintain processes and procedures for benefits accounting.
  • Project Manage Special Employee Benefits Projects:
    • Lead implementation of special projects within the Employee Benefits department.
    • Support Vice President – Employee Benefits, Director – Retirement & Savings Plans, and Director – Health and Welfare Plans on special projects, including benefit harmonization following acquisitions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Support continuous improvement projects within the Retirement & Savings Team.
    • Partner with Total Rewards and cross-functional teams (HR, I/T, Payroll, Finance, Legal, etc.) for system upgrades and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources or Finance experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office software.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Experience working with Employee Benefits programs.
  • Experience with Retirement plan third-party administrator portals.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience using eAccounting and/or Buy Rite Coupa.
  • Experience using Oracle Cloud HRIS.
  • Experience using SLM (Supplier Management).

Travel Requirements

5% time spent away from home or other typical office location.
