Senior AI Software Developer

About the role

Our client, a leading Government Systems Integrator, is seeking 15 Senior AI Software Developers for initial 12‑month contracts. The position follows a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and is open to candidates located in Gaithersburg, MD; Egg Township, NJ; or Eagan, MN. Developers will support the creation of a mission‑critical, future‑ready automation platform built on a hybrid cloud data mesh architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices
• Rewrite Java and C++ code using Claude Code (or similar AI tool)
• Implement RESTful APIs and event‑driven integrations within the hybrid cloud data mesh architecture
• Integrate relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring data consistency
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning multiple services, APIs, and infrastructure layers
• Contribute to design documents, API specifications, and runbooks

Requirements

• Experience building and supporting microservices‑based systems
• Experience writing Java and C++ code, with Java being the more critical, using Claude Code or a similar AI tool
• Prior experience developing Java, C++, or Python on a Linux‑based system
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Prior experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
