About the role
A federal technology consulting company is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI, with a background in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions and exposure to areas such as predictive modeling, deep learning, large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), MLOps, experimentation, and AI governance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions
- Apply predictive modeling, deep learning, and LLMs to solve business problems
- Implement RAG, vector databases, and generative AI tools
- Manage MLOps and production model deployment
- Deliver enterprise-scale AI and analytics solutions
- Conduct statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation
- Translate AI research into production systems
- Build microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and apply DevSecOps practices
Required Skills & Experience
- 12-15 years of data science, ML, or AI experience
- Expert-level Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
- Machine learning, deep learning, and LLM experience
- RAG, vector databases, and generative AI tools
- MLOps and production model deployment
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including FedRAMP environments
- AI platforms and architectures (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI Services, Google Vertex AI, RAG, agents)
- Enterprise-scale AI and analytics delivery
- Statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation
- Success delivering enterprise-scale systems and modernization programs
- Background in microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and DevSecOps practices
- Ability to translate AI research into production systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI
- Experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow
- U.S. citizenship required
- Public Trust clearance preferred
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future
