About the role

A federal technology consulting company is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI, with a background in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions and exposure to areas such as predictive modeling, deep learning, large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), MLOps, experimentation, and AI governance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions
  • Apply predictive modeling, deep learning, and LLMs to solve business problems
  • Implement RAG, vector databases, and generative AI tools
  • Manage MLOps and production model deployment
  • Deliver enterprise-scale AI and analytics solutions
  • Conduct statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation
  • Translate AI research into production systems
  • Build microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and apply DevSecOps practices

Required Skills & Experience

  • 12-15 years of data science, ML, or AI experience
  • Expert-level Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
  • Machine learning, deep learning, and LLM experience
  • RAG, vector databases, and generative AI tools
  • MLOps and production model deployment
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including FedRAMP environments
  • AI platforms and architectures (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI Services, Google Vertex AI, RAG, agents)
  • Enterprise-scale AI and analytics delivery
  • Statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation
  • Success delivering enterprise-scale systems and modernization programs
  • Background in microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and DevSecOps practices
  • Ability to translate AI research into production systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI
  • Experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Public Trust clearance preferred
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future
