Senior AI Applied Scientist
About the role
Anthuria is bringing AI innovation to skilled nursing facilities, transforming nurses’ daily workflows. We use AI agents to turn overwhelming volumes of clinical notes into clear, actionable insights that immediately improve patient care, reimbursement, and compliance. We are building an edge device that will provide real-time feedback to nurses. As an early team member, you'll continuously shape not just our technical direction but our culture and practices as well.
Responsibilities
- Fine-tune open-source language models to give nurses real-time feedback on their documentation and task completion at the point of care, optimizing for strict latency budgets, limited on-device memory, and battery-powered hardware (often targeting sub-billion-parameter models).
- Own end-to-end evaluation loops by establishing robust frameworks and metrics to rigorously test, monitor, and measure AI performance, enabling rapid iteration and high-performing products.
- Shape a metrics-driven culture by building data pipelines, product analytics, and experimentation standards to keep the team focused on measurable impact.
- Navigate healthcare systems and data requirements, embedding security and HIPAA-grade compliance into every AI system, pipeline, and experiment.
- Drive continuous AI innovation by researching customer workflows and identifying emerging AI technologies that deliver business value.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with the full fine-tuning lifecycle, from data curation to evaluation.
- Ability to dive deep into product specs and user behavior while aligning with company strategy and objectives.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Qualities
- Highly accountable: Take ownership from concept to maintenance, treating the company’s success as your own with an owner’s mindset and high integrity.
- Curious and collaborative: Continuously learn while generously helping others, fostering a growth mindset to develop both personally and organizationally.
- Comfortable with ambiguity: Navigate uncertainty with confidence, thriving in an early-stage environment where your impact is immediately visible.
- Value-driven: Ship quickly without sacrificing quality, balancing speed of iteration with high technical standards while keeping business impact as your north star.
Benefits
- $0 deductible and 100% employee-covered health, vision, and dental benefits.
- 401(k) with 50% company matching, up to 6% of your salary (e.g., if you contribute 6%, the company adds 3%).
- Unlimited PTO.
- Daily lunch provided at our Manhattan office.
