Blu Omega is seeking a Senior AI and ML Solutions Architect to support a federal program focused on advanced artificial intelligence initiatives in a hybrid environment. This role supports the CBP ECIS program responsible for cloud adoption, integration, and infrastructure modernization, with a primary focus on designing and implementing AI solutions at an enterprise level while aligning with federal security and compliance requirements.

Supporting cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and AI development efforts to enhance scalability, resilience, and security across national security systems.

Location: 22001 Loudoun County Parkway, Ashburn, VA / Hybrid
Work Authorization: U.S. or Green Card holder eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise-level AI and ML architectures, including generative AI, AI agents, LLMs, reinforcement learning, and computer vision models
  • Develop and maintain AI/ML roadmaps, perform analysis of alternatives, and advise leadership on technical tradeoffs and strategy
  • Transform technical research and development outputs into secure, compliant production solutions integrated with business workflows
  • Build scalable, secure, and compliant MLOps and CI/CD pipelines for regulated environments
  • Lead strategic planning for AI projects, including cloud deployment and edge device solutions
  • Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to executive and operational stakeholders, providing actionable insights and rapid prototyping

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with data science, machine learning, deep learning, or AI, including end-to-end architecture and delivery of complex AI programs
  • Experience managing AI initiatives across varying maturity levels and advising executive leadership on strategy
  • Proven experience designing, building, and deploying advanced AI systems, including generative AI, AI agents, and LLMs
  • Experience with secure, compliant MLOps and CI/CD pipelines in regulated environments
  • Cloud and engineering expertise across AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm, Linux, and AI services such as SageMaker, Vertex AI, Bedrock, or Gemini
  • Ability to communicate complex AI concepts clearly and provide actionable insights to senior leaders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Edge deployments and optimization strategies such as quantization, pruning, and knowledge distillation
  • Experience with MLOps for production workloads
  • Experience working with cybersecurity teams to develop and review security documentation and control implementation for authorization to operate (ATO)

Pay

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000. Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, and certifications.
