About the role

As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Planning Specialist, you will act as a team lead, managing all aspects of production and material support for multiple programs or one large, complex program. You will identify costs and bidding/estimating strategies, ensuring cost and schedule risks are clearly communicated to management. You will also assist in detailed proposal analysis and routinely interface with supply chain and suppliers for negotiation and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement process for manufacturing, ensuring suppliers meet quality, schedule, and cost needs.
  • Prepare reports on supplier performance and key metrics (quality, schedule, cost) for management review.
  • Manage business area financial commitments related to material sales and develop yearly/quarterly plans with Material Planning, CAMs, and DPMOs.
  • Identify critical suppliers, build strong relationships with their leadership, and lead supplier meetings (agendas, minutes, action items).
  • Identify and manage supplier risks/issues, developing mitigation plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, serving as a liaison between programs, functional areas, and suppliers.
  • Oversee procurement bids (labor and material) for business area proposals, supporting financial reviews up to VP level.
  • Resolve quality issues with suppliers and QA, addressing all aspects of procurement management.
  • Work with SCM buyers on purchase orders, quotes, and on-time delivery.
  • Support supplier audits and evaluations.
  • Prepare and hold material procurement kickoff meetings.
  • Manage the cost of procured materials, set target pricing for buyers within the ERP system (IFS).
  • Lead and support material requests for proposals, collaborating with bidding/estimating teams on material value, quotes, and proposal requirements.
  • Write Basis of Estimates (BOEs) to support proposals.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance required within a reasonable timeframe (U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work).
  • EVMS Certification may be required.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.

  • Strong understanding of IFS (ERP system) and GDMS business policies/procedures.

  • Strong planning, scheduling, and execution skills.
  • Quick learner who can handle complex assignments with initiative and minimal direction.

  • Proficient in presenting technical information verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $107,330.00/Yr. - USD $116,135.00/Yr. (varies based on experience and geographic location).

Schedule

This position is 100% on-site at the Pittsfield, MA facility.
