Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

Clearance Requirements

Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, build and test systems and products based on optic, photonic and laser technologies.
  • Interact with device, hardware and software design teams to assist in the overall development of optical systems.
  • Specify, select and qualify active and passive optical components.
  • Develop and benchmark system performance models.
  • Develop and implement test procedures.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate test instrumentation.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Proven track record of electrical and optical design experience.
  • Solid experience in the use of optical and electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunication applications and electrical engineering design tools.
  • Experience with optical and RF test and measurement equipment and laboratory tools.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: MATLAB, Lumerical, Zemax, VPI, Python, C/C++, LabView.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $160,085.00/Yr. - USD $168,840.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.

About the Role

This position involves designing, developing, building and testing systems and products based on optic, photonic and laser technologies.
