About The Role
The role within Memorial Healthcare System is designed for a highly experienced and knowledgeable healthcare professional, specifically a licensed pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert advice on drug therapies, and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals within our healthcare facilities. This position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. The pharmacist will collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care, monitor drug interactions, and contribute to the development of medication management protocols. Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current and valid pharmacy license and registration.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers and patients regarding medication therapies, dosages, and potential side effects.
- Monitor patient responses to medication and adjust therapies as necessary in collaboration with medical staff.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medication records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.
- Participate in the development and review of medication protocols and policies to enhance patient safety.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, storage, and documentation of pharmaceuticals.
- Stay current with new developments in pharmacology and incorporate best practices into daily operations.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior pharmacy staff and interns.
- Respond promptly to medication-related inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
