About the role
The position is in the Actuarial Reserving department. The employee would assist in reserving all lines of business, financial reporting, and special projects. Special projects include pattern reviews, line of business studies, retrocession submissions, and opportunities to improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and maintain detail loss development triangles for all lines of business
- Develop and monitor multiple loss development factors
- Become an expert on one or more lines of business for reserving and annual assumption review
- Analyze loss characteristics
- Build and refurbish tools and models to streamline business processes and workflows
- Direct and complete large projects, utilizing resources from multiple disciplines
- Operate as an effective team member by supporting projects that support the broader actuarial team
- Serve as liaison for groupwide strategy initiatives
- Aid in annual planning and budget process
- Help develop AI capabilities to improve process efficiency and sophistication
- Maintain SOX control documentation
Requirements
- 10 years of Actuarial experience
- At least 5 Actuarial exams preferable
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office products
- Programming knowledge (VBA, SQL, or others) strongly preferred
- Ability to work efficiently independently and in a group setting
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines
Qualifications

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $133,752 - $200,000/year. Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
Schedule
The role is to be located in the Morristown, NJ office location.
