Responsibilities

  • Provide project management, acquisition support of customer development efforts.
  • Perform project manager duties to ensure efficient execution of assigned efforts.
  • Work closely with program managers, lead project engineers, contracts, finance, and program teams.
  • Maintain awareness of day-to-day issues and plan/prepare for significant project events.
  • Affiliate with contract deliverables, integrated schedules, technical status reports, and cost performance reports and provide assessments to the Government team.
  • Affiliate with program office surveillance of prime and subcontractor performance. Assist in determining program progress and communication recommendations to the Government.
  • Affiliate with the creation and approval of acquisition strategies, program planning and creation, early capability development strategies and project planning, and the transition of program execution to the appropriate Program Executive Officer.
  • Develop and communicate roadmaps for programs and associated technologies and product lines.
  • Create and organize resources to facilitate program transition activities.
  • Affiliate with milestone planning, tracking, scheduling, briefing preparations, staff coordination, and decision documentation preparation.
  • Affiliate with identifying and mitigating risks to technology development projects.
  • Participate in working groups and team planning offsites.
  • Establish trusted and influential relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10 years acquisition experience.
  • Experience working DoD acquisition programs to include DoD contracting and program management strategies, generation of Justification and Authority (J&A) documents, Acquisition Strategy Plan, CDRLs, as well as assisting with creation of Statement of Objectives and Statement of Work for research and development (R&D) activities.
  • Experience working on classified and/or special access programs.
  • Be a self-starter, thrive in a dynamic environment, can accomplish high-level tasks independently, is skilled in problem definition, and work well with other team members, members of the Senior Executive Service and senior military officers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, be capable of developing briefings and reports accurately summarizing program performance and addressing key issues for senior DAF and OSD leadership, and other DoD offices.
  • Extensive acquisition and contract management experience, specifically monitoring program execution and integration of complex programs and systems, and applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s framework, directives, and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management; Engineering, or other military studies related filed plus 18 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree; Business, Project Management; Engineering, or other military studies related field plus 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., DAU, PMP, Agile, or similar) (Desired).

Clearance Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.
