Senior Acoustics Engineer
About the Role
Bose Professional and Fulcrum Acoustic are seeking a high-energy and innovative Senior Acoustics Engineer to work on exciting R&D initiatives as we continue to advance our world-class professional loudspeaker systems. In this role you will work with a variety of teams across the entire organization, collaborating and iterating on product ideas, architecture, detailed design, rapid prototyping and testing. You will help shape the technical direction for loudspeaker-focused R&D, including the workflows and tools used to go from early concepts to parametric models, to rapid prototyping and testing/evaluation, to optimization and tuning for final productization. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineers on custom tools for designing & modeling loudspeaker systems; optimize acoustic measurement, data analysis, and design verification workflows & processes.
- Design loudspeaker enclosures, waveguides and novel acoustical elements.
- Be a catalyst for innovation and new IP generation.
- Accelerate our innovation process, leverage our extensive in-house experience/knowledge base and IP, conduct research and explore emerging technology trends.
- Create technical proposals outlining potential solutions and approaches that are aligned with our strategic product vision and business goals.
- Collaborate on architecture and design documents.
- Create product prototypes leveraging our cross-functional engineering teams, outside engineering support services and specialized consultants.
- Be a champion for innovation and creativity, while staying focused on practical solutions that meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.
- Support Company objectives by completing additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or similar.
- 4+ years of hands-on professional acoustic engineering/research experience.
- Solid understanding of loudspeakers, waveguides, and transducers.
- Experience using and interpreting results from acoustic simulation & design software tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Klippel Near-Field Scanners.
- Experience developing acoustic test procedures and test rigs.
- Crossover design and optimization experience.
- Exposure to or experience with COMSOL modeling; desire to further expand in this area.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $100,000–$122,000. This range reflects our good-faith estimate of the base compensation for the role at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location, and the range may be updated in the future. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus or other variable incentive compensation.
