About the role
As a Senior Signal Processing Engineer, you will be a key technical contributor to the development of detection, classification, localization, and tracking (DCLT) algorithms for Vatn’s underwater acoustic sensors.
Responsibilities
- Algorithm development & refinement for forward looking sonar products
- System Hardening: Analyze real-world data to improve robustness against complex acoustic environments
- Algorithms Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to the homing system and target management framework to increase mission reliability
- Develop automated data analysis pipelines from data collect to metrics reporting
- DCLT Algorithm Implementation: Develop detection, classification, localization, and tracking algorithms
- Edge Deployment: Translate high-level algorithm into prototypes into efficient, real-time code optimized for deployment on embedded edge-compute hardware
- Support in-water development and in-water integration testing of the homing system
- Work with key stakeholders - internal and external (government) - to translate mission CONOPS and requirements to robust testing programs to validate homing performance
- Develop detailed sonar equation models of active and passive acoustic devices and systems for internal/external project support
Requirements
- Required Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical signal processing, tracking algorithms, acoustic signal processing and machine learning
- Ability to analyze and deploy algorithms at the edge: embedded signal processing
- Proficiency in Matlab, Python, C/C++
