Senior Accounting Manager

About the role

DLC is seeking Senior Accounting Managers to join our dynamic team in Chicago. Our consultants collaborate closely with clients on various complex initiatives, such as accounting and finance operations, financial reporting, FP&A, financial systems implementations, process optimization, post-merger integration, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all month-end close activities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statement reporting, consolidations, and trend analysis
  • Compile and present quarterly financial presentations for executive teams in monthly meetings
  • Aid in post-merger integration—systems and processes redesign
  • Manage cash management and cash flow forecasting
  • Support annual planning and forecasting across business units, offering guidance to department leads
  • Assist with Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K and manage the internal and external review for these documents, as well as earnings press releases
  • Conduct technical accounting research and write white papers on complex transactions
  • Support SEC Reporting, prepare footnotes and MD&A, and ensure compliance with external reporting filings
  • Provide insight and implement areas for process improvement and efficiencies
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive accounting policy documents to enhance clarity and consistency
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to assist in critical business decision support as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA and/or CPA or in progress required
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, including some experience in large public companies
  • Confidence in professional aptitude and ability to communicate skills and knowledge effectively to clients
  • Willingness to adapt and be flexible in changing environments
  • High energy and commitment to exceeding customer expectations
  • Demonstrated career progression and advanced Excel skills (including pivots, v-lookups) and ability to handle large data sets
  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, capable of building relationships at all levels

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background, particularly in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in a senior-level accounting role within a large public company
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations, including SEC requirements
  • Experience with ERP implementation and upgrades
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,000 - $160,000, with potential for additional incentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonuses, based on a variety of factors including office location, role, skill set, and experience level.
