Senior Accountant, Technical Revenue
About the role
The Revenue Team at MongoDB is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented, and hands-on individual to join as a Senior Accountant, Technical Revenue. This role is based in Austin, Palo Alto, or NYC and will focus on analyzing and reviewing complex revenue transactions, providing guidance on technical revenue accounting issues, and communicating the accounting implications to business partners during contract negotiations. Responsibilities also include participating in month-end and quarter-end close activities and handling ad-hoc projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and review complex revenue transactions
- Provide direction on technical revenue accounting issues
- Articulate accounting impact to business partners during contract negotiation
- Partner with cross-functional business partners (Sales, Professional Services, Legal, Deal Strategy, etc.)
- Support revenue-related system implementations
- Assist in the creation, refinement, and ongoing maintenance of process and controls documentation around internal controls over revenue accounting
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline; CPA a plus
- 3+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and operations in the technology industry
- Proficient knowledge of revenue and related pronouncements (ASC 606)
- Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment
- Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Comfort operating in an evolving, fast-growth environment with shifting priorities

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $67,000—$132,000 USD.
