Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly fiscal responsibilities:
    • Prepare and submit contract billings to Accounts Receivable as defined by agreements with other agencies.
    • Monitor the General Ledger in accordance with the Comptroller General's Monthly Checklist and grant regulations.
    • Correct any funding errors identified during the monthly review.
  • Assist with monitoring grant activity by updating monthly reports, including match and program income.
  • Prepare monthly reports required for RSA-911 reporting.
  • Perform quarterly Cost Allocation Plan analysis:
    • Determine and prepare journal entries to allocate costs per quarterly analysis.
    • Review the annual administrative salary funding split for Federal and State.
  • Assist in reviewing the Cost Allocation Plan annually and propose changes as needed.
  • Prepare allocation of annual insurance expenditures and quarterly worker's compensation expenditures.
  • Prepare and request draws for Basic Support Grants after supervisor approval.
  • Prepare documentation for quarterly RSA reporting for Basic Support Grants and submit to supervisor for review.
  • Prepare and submit assigned year-end closing package by required deadlines, including supporting documentation.
  • Serve as backup for other essential finance functions as needed.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience in government accounting.
  • SCEIS knowledge preferred.
  • Grant knowledge preferred.
  • If invited to interview, obtain your official 10-year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you.
  • Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories, and terminology of accounting, auditing, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Knowledge of state government fiscal and accounting practices and financial statement analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data, records, and reports.
