Senior Accountant - SAP

Candidate Overview:

This is a Senior Accountant position within a Consumer Products Goods (CPG) industry, working with SAP in a growing company setting. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting, process improvement, and a passion for finance.

Job Duties

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and other general ledger transactions.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze general ledger activity and financial results to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Utilize SAP to record, review, research, and reconcile accounting transactions.
• Aid in accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Prepare account analyses and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting.
• Partner with FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Help implement standardized procedures and documentation to improve accuracy and consistency.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and requested documentation.
• Assist with system enhancements, process automation, and other accounting projects.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable GAAP requirements.
• Take ownership of accounting processes and proactively identify ways to make the function more efficient and scalable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a SAP environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with financial systems and processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
