Senior Accountant / remote / contract

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in managing the company's accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can operate independently, identify issues, and proactively drive solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
• Aid with financial statement preparation and reporting
• Support external audits and compliance requirements
• Manage fixed assets, accruals, and other accounting functions as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives

Requirements

This is an ideal position for a hands-on accounting professional with experience in managing accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The successful candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in accounting software and a CPA certification are preferred but not required.
